Wonder if it was imported that way, or hit here. The rear tag is hanging off of the (now concave) rear body panel, and it looks like he’s one good pothole away from the right quarter flexing enough to pop the back glass.

Why not?! The wheels are still pointing straight and I bet it was cheap.

I highly highly doubt it was cheap (assuming it was imported in its present form)

Eh, if it was legal to own here, I’d buy it right now for the right price. The right rear rail is (presumably) fucked, may be able to save the floor and rear body, and you’d be surprised what a pull would do for that right quarter. I’d never be able to sell it with good conscience, but as a bodyshop guy, I’d repair and DD the hell out of that thing, no problem.

an interesting theory. import essentially an engine and running gear in a wrecked body. then perhaps caught in the act of moving it from one garage to another

But the R33 is legal, as long as you use a certain importer. That’s not a joke.

Kind of sort of a little. it has to be a 96-98 Series 2 with driver and passenger airbag. and it’ll still need OBDII refitted as all cars in the US 1996+ require it. Does Rivsu Imports have the contacts to make it happen? sure, is someone spending $30,000+ on modifications on an R33 to do it? probably not.
